Thank God for Pride

Many of us take for granted the freedoms we enjoy as LGBT people in New Zealand. Being able to come together for weeks of celebration is indeed a wonderful privilege. The Auckland Rainbow Community Church (ARCC) will hold a special PRIDE THANKSGIVING SERVICE on Sunday the 1^st  of March at 7.00pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

Cindy of Samoa will sing

The PRIDE THANKSGIVING SERVICE will be held at St Matthew-in-the-City a historic Anglican church renowned for its neo-Gothic architecture and style. The church is located on the corner of Hobson Street and Wellesley Street East in the Central Business District of Auckland. ARCC hold a regular service at St Matthew-in-the-City every Sunday night and have been doing so for 45+ years. ARCC are a community of diverse sexualities and gender identities, and everyone is lovingly accepted. Expect singing, words, art, stories and food. This special service will follow the structure of ARCC’s normal services but with a difference. With singing and music from the amazing Cindy of Samoa, readings, and a message from Marja Lubeck  MP, the sponsor of the Prohibition of Conversion Therapy Bill.

We are all worthy just as we are and one of the focuses of the service will be on the abolition of so called ‘conversion therapy’. It will be a memorable, spiritual evening of remembrance and gratitude. Supper after the service is great time to meet others, look around the church and ask as many questions as you want.
