We are holding our first Café Style Service this Sunday night. Yes, Dan will be doing his brilliant supper plates and we will be sitting at our tables, for our informal service. Rev Richard Bonifant will lead us in a celebratory communion, and our readings will encourage us to focus on how faith can sustain us. David Dennis and Edward Peni will lead the music. In place of a sermon, I am lining up several people to talk of how faith has helped them. Would you like to say something – let me know.

We also need to pray for our community and the communities of a divided world as Black Lives Matter movement has gathered force this week. I heard an interesting podcast on the way in which LGBT people should be able to have a sense of what people of colour feel when they are marginalised. But often we can hold our sexuality within, choosing whether we reveal it. It is much tougher when people categorise you leaving you with no chance to speak for yourself. We need to pray and work for change.
